Days Gone By

It amazes me how quickly days go by during the summer. Longer light and yet I wish there was more! I've been working a lot lately. I applied for another job as well. Keep your fingers crossed. I want this one the most! I've trained the UPS guy at work to apologize for bringing me more product faster than I can sell it. He's so funny.

I had a fun shopping spree at the Scrapbook territory on Wednesday. I am going to play with all my fun stuff tonight. Kelly is coming over and Jenna is going to join in the scrapping fun too! I hope I can get a lot done tonight while watching The Lake House.
Speaking of Jenna, she is the silliest person I know. She decided to put "beware of dog" on the trunk of her caddy in the parking lot of our shopping center. We don't have a dog, Jenna just likes to be called "The J-Dog." Every moment is an photo opportunity for me. I wasn't there when they actually put it on, but I wanted to get some cute photos of Sara, Jenna and Tiffany hanging out together. And yes, Jenna loves to live in comfy PJ's .

Last night was a fun and productive night. I actually started my art journal! I've become addicted to shopping on etsy, so I decided to print out the pretty stuff that is too expensive for me right now and put it into my inspiration art journal. I used my new Paint Dabber by Adirondack and it was more time consuming than I initially thought it would be. I learned i have no idea how to mix paints to make hot pink!

I made these while watching a really good movie about a mole in the FBI called Breach. I highly suggest watching it!
I made a pink and green birthday card for Gabriella because she requested those colors. She told Tim that she wanted to learn how to scrapbook, so I'm going to be introducing her to the addictive world of paper crafts next week.

I met up with my friends Lisa and Cindy for a great lunch at Portofino's in Pacifica. It is an upscale Italian restaurant on the waterfront of the Pacific Ocean. I met Lisa's friend Rayko and she is a blast. I really enjoy seeing my friends from school.

Fisherman's Wharf & Pier 39

Mike is home from the Army until July 1st. We took him to one of our favorite summer locations where we can pretend to be tourists-Fisherman's Wharf & Pier 39 in San Francisco! We brought Sara and his brother Rob with us. Here is a picture of Sara, Jenna, Mike, and Rob with Alcatraz in the background.

We had so much fun goofing around and enjoying the beautiful weather. We looked at our usual sterling silver rings along the wharf and then made our way to Pier 39.

Mike had so many things he wanted to do. It was between Ripley's Believe It or Not, Alcatraz, and the Aquarium of the Bay . It was too late for Alcatraz, so we decided to go to the Aquarium. I don't think I'd ever been there before so I was really excited to go. Dan & I went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium last summer and I was so impressed with it. This aquarium was smaller as expected since space is so limited in San Francisco. I really enjoyed going and this is my favorite photo from the tunnel. They had part of the walkway moving and the other half was stationary. We saw a Giant Sea Bass that was 7 feet long. I think that reminded me of one of the reasons I never swim in S.F.

After that we had ice cream and lots of other yummy candies. We goofed off for a while as we waited to meet Dan, Dad, and Mom up after they got off work. We met them at Hooter's because 5/9 really wanted to go there for dinner. On the way there we passed the Rainforest Cafe and that reminded us how much of a better place it was so we changed our minds . The food was better and the atmosphere was really fun.

Here is Rob, Dan, Mom, Dad, Sara, Jenna & Mike in front of the lit up Ghirardelli Square sign. We had such a wonderful outing!

Fisherman's Wharf night photo

Just had to share a quick photo for tonight before bed. I had the best summer day ever today thanks to Mike, Rob, Jenna, Sara, Dan, my Mom, and Dad. I took lots of pictures so expect to see a lot in the next couple of days.

Girls Night Out

I went to Bocce Cafe in North Beach (San Francisco, Ca) last night for dinner. The atmosphere was so wonderful. The decor was beautiful and the had a live singer. The food was delicious too. After dinner we went to Bing's and On The Steps of Rome before returning to the hotel to continue the celebration.

Everywhere we went our group was called the pink posse. We had a great night.

New Stuff

I've been so busy that I have forgotten completely to blog. I've been working on altering an album for a secret sister swap in a scrapbooking group I'm in. I can't show it until she receives it though so it will be a while before that's posted. I finally got my photos from BFD back and they aren't that great considering the point & shoot camera I brought. Oh well!

My pattern came yesterday for my Le Borsa Bag. I can't wait to start on that project. I have plenty of fabric just waiting to be stitched together.

I decided to see if I could sell some cute hand made photo corners on my etsy shop. I plan to add lots of different colors. Worse case scenario I can use them myself! I also added some 5x7's to see if those prints would sell.

I also updated my photo portfolio website. My friend Roger is so wonderful that he's trying to hook my up with a commercial product photo gig. More on that later.

Tonight it my cousin Kelley's bachelorette party in San Francisco. I have to go find a pink outfit for that. Should be interesting. I think we're going to Bocce's Cafe in North Beach and then to a bunch of bars and clubs and t hen back to a hotel. I'll be sure to post photos of it!

Errands and things

Today has been an errand day for me. I went to Costco, Beverly's and Ritz Camera. I edited photos down from my graduation, retouched them, and then brought the cd to swap with Lisa since she was giving me a cd and beautiful photos by Scott. Thanks!

Yesterday was a wonderful day. My family celebrated Father's Day in Redwood City and my Uncle Pat's house. I told my Aunt Jean about not having any luck in finding pants. She took me upstairs and gave me a pair that was way too long for her. They were a perfect fit (minus the length). That makes 4 pairs of pants to hem now. I really have to get to that soon! Here is a photo of my family relaxing around in the backyard after dessert. I had such a great time being with my family and not having to do any homework. It's been so long since I have had such freedom.

The swallows on Jenna's shirt were so cute and inspirational that I had to take a photo of it for my art journal that I plan to start (on my very long list of things to do).

My cousin Christina turned 17 so we were adding that onto the Father's Day party too. Card design lifted from saturngrrl.

Denim Days

This is the inside of my favorite pair of pants. I didn't stitch it, they came that way. I am in need of new pants and spent the past two days trying on 32 pairs that didn't fit right! I can't find Dollhouse brand pants anywhere and want more desperately. So badly, that I might resort to looking online. I will normally shop for anything online, with the exception of pants.

This morning I woke up with a laugh. I'm not a morning person but Jenna decided to out do my Dad after he made a pyramid. We are a living cereal commercial (mom pictured).

I had to make two cards today so I thought I'd use up some scraps lying around. Here are a birthday card for my sisters friend and a father's day card for my Dad.

Tomorrow is Rachel's Birthday so Jenna, Katrina, Mike, and Roman are going to celebrate by going to City Nights (dance club in SF). They were so cute all dressed in coordinating outfits without even meaning to. They invited me to go but I have to work early in the morning so I said no thanks. I probably would have had a blast and at the same time made Jenna feel really aware of herself. I'm off to spending some time with Dan.

A Day at the Beach

I visited with my friend Eva and her lovely children, Elizabeth, and Josiah this afternoon. They are growing so quickly; I hate to go so long without seeing them. They went to get their photos taken today so they had on extra cute outfits and I couldn't resist snapping a few shots. Here is Elizabeth in a beautiful princess-esque dress.

And here is baby Josiah (2nd outfit for the day) trying to hear:

It was such a beautiful day we couldn't resist going to the beach. It was a priceless memory. We had such fun building a fort of shade for Josiah!

I also had the pleasure of reading a book by Tracy Chevalier titled Burns Brighter. She has also written Girl With the Pearl Earring and The Virgin Blue. I love her knack for really making the reader feel as though they are right there with the character in the time period of her books. It feels like a lot of movies have been focusing on the French Revolution recently and so it seemed like the perfect time to read a book set around that era. Well it's good night for now!

Day Tripper

These passed two days I have been all over running errands including getting my car fixed. Although I never like getting my car fixed because of how expensive it is, I do enjoy being near the Laurel Leaf (fabric store) and The Scrapbook Depot. I had fun shopping for little pretty things . I really want to get back into sewing and have already found a few projects that I want to do. Tonight there were two women at the store that had sewn their own purses. I hope to make one before the months over. Here is a cute design:

I went to Helen's house and enjoyed seeing how her wallpaper is nearly back in style. She has so many cool things in her house. I can always find entertainment.

I took these a few weeks ago but just got to look at them tonight. These are two of my favorite from a photo shoot with my sister Jenna and a new dress she bought.

BFD was a blast

Wow have I been busy. Each day I've meant to post something and then I got called in to work. We got in so much shipment that I definitely got my exercise this week. On Thursday, a photo classmate of mine photographed me (I tried my best to model). He shot 120mm film so I don't expect to post anything for quite a while on that.

I had an amazing day yesterday at Shoreline Amphitheater. Dan & I met up with Kristi and her gang. It was so nice to finally meet Sandy, Shannon, and Nick. I don't have any pictures back yet since I wasn't allowed to bring my professional digital camera into the venue. As many pointed out, I was shooting "old school film." The guy sitting next to me commented that I was a little young for film. I can't help but laugh at that thought.

There were so many talented bands playing that it was really hard to choose which to stay and watch. I'm disappointed that we missed my favorite local band the Matches, but I have seen them in concert plenty of times before. I'll just have to make an effort to see them again.

Let the production begin!

The other night I was talking with Patty and she told me that she makes time for at least one hour a day to do something creative. Whether it be organizing her products or making a page, she has been able to follow this goal since the beginning of the year. I think this is a completely realistic goal and if I had thought of it, how much more fun that guaranteed hour would be! I'll try my best to take this on as a mid year goal.

Today I made up for a lack of not having that hour yesterday. Kelly came over and we had Jenna join us at the scrap table. We had such a blast. It was Jenna's first page to scrap and let me say that it was far better than my first try! She has such great potential that I could see her easily becoming a designer. She has such unique style and confidence in her work that I truly admire. Here are three LO's I completed today:

Scrapping!

I had so much fun last night at the crop with Kristi, Patty, Angela, and Cindy. There were so many other sweet people I just can't recall all their names. It's always fun to see how people scrap when I've known them for so long. I love the social part of scrapping so much that I barely get anything accomplished! I'm nearly done with a LO, so I will take a photo in the early morning light tomorrow.

Here is a little note pad that I had to buy, from Target, because the color combination inspired me so much.

After having such a wonderful shopping spree at Joann's, I decided to check out Beverly's fabric section. Sadly, all of the stores I frequented with my mom when I was younger have become less fabric, more general craft store. I suppose I'll have to go to specialty stores for any unique fabric. I'm definitely going to make time for sewing this summer.

I did find something that I love in Beverly's and I used my 40% off coupon which brought my item down to $13! If you haven't tried them, it is a must on my list. They are embossing pens by Sakura Gelly Roll. Has anyone compared these to the Souffle line? I'm wondering if there is a reason for me to own both. I've always been a sucker for gelly rolls. I should scrap them as an obsession (started in high school).

Happy June 1st!

I started my very own etsy shop yesterday. Check it out and tell everyone about My Etsy Shop I have listed a few of my photographs. I plan to add a variety of things shortly.

Today I had a wonderful lunch with Dan and then with my Mom. We spent an hour in Joann's just goofing around. Their fat quarters and quarter flats were on sale for 99 cents so I had a blast picking out such vibrant and inspiring patterns.

I'm off to a crop at the Nook with Kristi. I hope we get a few fun pictures tonight.
